((I moved this here cause I believe there is potential for others to join in. Also, I wanted people to feel free to comment.))
Nyphistra stood on a hill overlooking the Basin of Arathi, watching the battle take place. The alliance were putting up a good fight but the troops she was watching over weren’t all that smart. She watched as they walked right into what should have been an obvious trap. She shook her head. “Amateurs,” she sighed as a messenger came running up to her.
“Magistrix, they keep coming. There doesn’t seem to be an end to them. I don’t know if we can hold them off.”
“You are all so incompetent. I’ll handle this.”
She picked up her dagger, placing it on her hip, grinning devilishly. “Oh this will be so much fun.” In an instant, she was at the front line with her troops. “Pull back unless you want to die with them,” she ordered as she started channeling her magic.
Her robes waved fluidly as she gathered her power for the spell. Her hair whipped around her face. A devilish smirk on her face. Fire gathering in her hand and dancing around. After a few seconds, she looked up at the alliance standing there as if mesmerized. “If it’s a fight you want, come and get me.”
The first victim was a large human clad in chain mail armor wielding a two handed sword. She smirked and tossed a fireball at him. He burst into flames and collapsed, angering his comrades. They charged in at her and she grinned. With a snap of her fingers, she set one in the middle of the group on fire. In another second, she summoned what appeared to be the head of a dragon to breath fire on the mob of alliance, sending most them into a confusion and screaming.
How she loathed the alliance, and humans most of all, for everything they did to her. Their screams and agony excited her. It was ecstasy to her ears. She watched as the first person she attacked suddenly explode and was launched into the air along with some of his buddies to only crashing down to the ground, dying upon impact. The two that were still alive charged angrily toward her.
“You little Sin’dorei bi***. We’re going to make you pay.”
Nyphistra giggled as they charged forward. “You honestly think you can beat me. Go on and try it.” She waited till they were almost in top of her before acting. She simply snapped her fingers, releasing a strong fire burst that radiated from her in a perfect circle knocking her enemies back. Then she pointed her right palm at the human to her right and clenched her fist, sending a fireblast at him. The spell was more than enough to finish him off.
After the impact of the Fireblast, fire began to swarm around her. The final human began to get scared. He dropped his sword and turned to run, but it was too late. She quickly gathered the fire in her hand forming it in a large ball of fire. She hurled the fireball at the fleeing human, hitting him in the back. Her excitement and ecstasy was building rapidly. The human hadn’t died but she wasn’t going to let him get away either. Instantly, she conjured up a pyroblast and incinerated him.
She turned back to her troops. Her face was flush, glowing as if she just spent a passionate night with a lover. They looked at her stunned and amazed. She took out 10 humans in a mere matter of minutes. “Gather up the wounded and head back to camp.” She walked off in search on a nice place for a bath. After that, she needed to clean up before presenting her report.
Edit: Hooray for replacement words :/

She finally found what she was looking for, a nice pool of water. She took off the glove on her left hand and tested the water. “A little cold but I can fix that.” Nyphistra gathered her magical energy into a fireball and cast it in the water, instantly heating the water to a nice warm temperature. She put her hair up, disrobed, and slipped into the pool of water. She sighed happily, “Nothing like a nice relaxing bath after a long day.”
After a while in the warm water, she returned to her tent and enjoyed a nice dinner. She was just finishing up when a messenger appeared. He knelt before her holding a missive. “Pardon me, Magistrix, but I have an important message for you.”
“Thank you.” She handed him a couple gold coins for his trouble and took the missive, opening it. “Please wait outside. I’ll have a reply shortly.”
“As you wish, Magistrix.”
She took out her map of the area and read the letter.
Magistrix Nyphistra,
You are to stop your attacks on the human lands and return to the city. There is a far greater threat that requires your immediate attention and skills. We are preparing an expedition to the land referred to as Northrend. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you who resides there and the threat he poses to everyone. We understand both the alliance and the horde are preparing envoys to Northrend. Also Dalaran seems to have relocated to this area as well. Given your ties to the magic city, we want you to investigate the area and assist where you can.
Head Magister School of Magic Silvermoon City
‘Wonderful,’ she thought. She took out a piece of paper and wrote a quick response stating she would return in 3 days time. Normally it would take weeks to travel from her location in arathi basin to Silvermoon but she was a Magistrix and could teleport herself there in a matter of minutes. However, she needed to tend her troops first. She gave the note and a scroll of teleportation to the messenger. “Please take this reply back to the Head Magister in Silvermoon. Use this scroll to get there.”
“Of course, M’lady. I’ll leave at once.” With that the messenger read from the scroll and was gone. Nyphistra went over to her sergeant.
“Sergeant.”
“Yes, Magistrix Silvertree?”
“Gather the men and get ready to leave. We’re heading back to Hammerfall in the morning.”
“Yes Ma’am. Anything else?”
“Not at the moment.” She turned back to her tent to ponder the situation. She spent time in Dalaran before it was destroyed and would love to see the city again. She would have to hurry if she was to make the preparations in time.

((Hey! It's Oginalii. Nyphystra sounds like a real piece of work, lol. You've got my curiosity peeked (or piqued?). Is she destined to be a DK? I have a Demon lock headed that direction. He's evil--to say the least. Ahrimman is his name. If you happen to see him, maybe we can RP a little. But, I'm trying to get my rogue Anaansi to at least 60 before I focus on Ahrimman. Anywho, I'm gonna see if I can come up with a story, from Ahrimman's point of view, and then maybe he and Nyph can meet here. Good job with the writing! ))

((Thanks Oginalii. I wasn't sure how that was going to turn out. I'm still brainstorming things in my head. In Nyph's background, she was with the Kirin Tor and assisted in teaching magic to humans.
After Arthas sacked Silvermoon and the alliance turned on the blood elves, she was imprisoned to die. The prison she was placed in also had male humans in it that tried very hard to take advantage of her. This is where her hatred for humans comes. While she does tolorate the alliance to a point, she despises the humans for the events that happened in that prison cell.
Once freed, she went back to help rebuild Silvermoon and in effect became a prominent teacher in Fire and Frost magic. As she studied and her encounters with the alliance and other things, she started leaning more and more toward using fire, relishing in the power. the ideas that started it came from playing with the fire tree's new stuff and I'll say I honestly had an evil laugh in the BG's with it.
There will be more coming, I just need to figure out where the story will go. I'm just leaving things open at this point and playing it by ear. Really, anyone can join in even alliance. Just no perma deaths in the RP without prior consent from the player.
A couple hooks, maybe you happened onto the fight in progress. I didn't say what happened to the alliance commander so maybe he ran back to get help. I'm sure the horde troops, which is nothing more than just young NPC's, are spreading stories and tales. I'm mostly trying to have fun and improve my writing so feel free to join in and have some fun too.))

((ok back to the regular scheduled RP. edit: added the rest of the post that i forgot.)) Hammerfall, a small horde outpost in what the hilly area of Arathi Basin, was busy in the morning hours as Orcs, Forsaken, Trolls and Taurens alike were always getting ready to either go on patrol or prepare things for those leaving. Nyphistra rode in on her hawkstrider followed closely behind her were the men in her charge, a few blood elves but mostly those living in the outpost, and their equipment. She rode up to the battlemaster after watching her men go to get something to eat. She spoke briefly to the forsaken sitting on her dreadstead, detailing the events of the previous battles and that she was to return to Silvermoon. Nyphistra showed the note from the head magister to her as well. “We’ve come to rely on your talents in our battles. I look forward to your return to the battlefront. Dark lady watch over you, Magistrix.” Nyphistra nodded and turned toward the stable master. She gave him a small pouch of more than enough gold to tend to the bird and have the bird transported to Silvermoon. He thanked her and she curtseyed back in appreciation. She gave her hawkstrider a pat on its neck. “I’ll see you soon my friend,” she whispered. She then reached into a pouch on her hip, pulling out a runestone, muttered an incantation in sin’dorian and returned to Silvermoon. ********* Silvermoon was quite busy, more so than Hammerfall was, which seemed slightly odd. To be honest, Silvermoon was usually a busy but there was something different about today. People weren’t just milling about with their daily routines and a lot were walking around armed in some way either with swords, bows, or staves. Even the Blood Knights, if you could call them that given recent events, were patrolling the city. Nyphistra looked around taking in everything going on. Something wasn’t right and she wondered if this had anything to do with the orders she had been given. ‘Maybe I should head to the Magister’s office and see what’s going on,’ she thought for a moment. The thought didn’t last long. She noticed across the way a young male Sin’dori collapse on the ground holding his stomach. Then he rose up looking like a zombie, one of the scourge, and started attacking a woman that just happened to be close. She immediately gathered up some magical energy in forming it into a fireball. She tossed the fireball at the zombie. This got its attention. “Run! Get the guards and a healer!” she yelled at the woman as she readied another spell. The woman ran off screaming for help. The zombie turn to Nyphistra, charging at her. She released another fireball at him, hitting the zombie again but that didn’t seem to stop it. It kept coming closer and Nyphistra gathered some energy for a quick fireblast, setting the zombie on fire. Nyphistra grinned devilishly. The zombie had no idea what was instore for him. Magical energy had been gathering around Nyphistra since she loosed the fireblast. In the next instant after the fireblast hit him, she launched a Pyroblast at the zombie, incinerating him where he stood just a few feet in front of her. The zombie collapsed in a pile of smoldering ash. Just then a couple guards arrived with a priest and the woman from earlier. “What’s going on here,” the guard asked. “I was hoping you could tell me. I just returned to the city and saw a young man fall over on the ground in pain. Then he rose up looking like a scourge zombie and attacked this woman,” Nyphistra said. “And where is that person now?” “Well you could check that pile of smoldering ash if you like, not that it would do you any good. I doubt you could identify him anyway.” “nuts. Well to answer your question miss….” “Magistrix Nyphstra Silvertree.” “Right, Lady Silvertree. There has been a rash increase of this sort of thing happening. It’s gotten so bad we enlisted the aid of the Argent Dawn. They have been able to help those infected before they turn. You said he turned into a zombie. Then he is in a better place.” “You will not mind if I include this in my report later.” “Not at all. I’d suggest cleaning up first though and be careful. It spreads easily. If you feel infected, seek out a member of the Argent Dawn in the city for assistance.” “I will keep that in mind. Good day.” Nyphistra curtseyed and turned to head home. When the zombie died, some of his blood ended up on her robes. She needed to clean up and wanted to see Zalintha, her sister, for a little bit. She had a couple satchels of herbs and could use her expertise with making some potions and flasks.

“Zalintha, are you here?” Nyph called out as she searched the house. “I’m down in my lab, Nyphi…you want me to come up?” “No”, she answered, “ I’m on my way down, I have some herbs for you.”
Nyphistra sighed and muttered “I should have known”, as she headed down to the lab where her sister was. She was notorious for holing herself up in for weeks at a time. As she reached the bottom of the stairs Zalintha bounded over to Nyph and gave her a hug. “Good to see you back, though it’s earlier than expected. What have you got for me?” Handing over the bags she said, “it’s good to see you too, I got summoned back to the city for something. I‘m guessing you‘ve been holed up the entire time I was gone again?”
Zalintha took the bags and set them on a table nearby and replied, “oh no, I’ve just returned to the city myself. I’ve been training a good bit lately. Have you noticed the strangeness going on in the city?”
“Yes, in fact, I had a run-in with it as I entered the city…let’s just say the guards are going to have a time figuring out who the other guy was” Nyph smiled wickedly.
“Sometimes I think you enjoy your power a smidge too much sis” Zalintha giggled. “I’m actually concerned with what’s happening.” Nyph thought she‘s concerned about something? That‘s a first.
“It seems this plague has spread to all the major cities and has also spread to Shattrath already, and the strangest character gave me a task. Which might be why you were called back.”
“Oh really? Tell me about it”
“Well, when I went back to Shattrath to put some things in the bank and send some others off to be sold , I saw the Argent Dawn of all people right outside the Aldor bank. So being curious I went over to have a look and see what was going on. As I was looking around I noticed a forsaken had taken up camp near the Argent Dawn, and I though maybe he was sent as an Emmisary for the Undercity or something.”
Nyph nodded and wondered how long her sister was going to keep rambling on as Zalintha continued to tell her tale. “So I went over to speak to him since we’d done tasks in the Undercity, I figured he’d might have something for us to do out here. Boy was I surprised at the task he gave me!” Zalintha started picking through the herbs.
“well, are you going to just stand there all dramatic, or are you going to tell me?” Nyph said as she was getting impatient.
“He sent me back here to give something to another apothecary here in the city. And you’re not going to believe what he sent….a head! And not just any head, this one could talk!”
At this point Nyph was sure her sister was crazy. “Wait a minute. You say he gave you... a talking head?”
“Yes! He said that it had something to do with this plague, something about having the plague and an anti plague all in it’s brain! So I bought it to the apothecary and then came back to the house to clean up. You know that place called Blades Edge is really dusty. I felt positively gross when I got back and I just had to take a nice long bath to get all that dust off. Speaking of which, looks like YOU need a bath.”

((forgot to mention, this is a colorabation work between Zalintha and myself.))
Nyphistra looked herself over. “I believe you are quite right, Sister. I would like to talk more about this head and plague. It might shed some light on what the Magisters are planning.” “Ok sis.”
Nyphistra soaked in the warm, scented water taking in everything her sister said. She wondered about the new plague and if it had anything to do with her summons back to the city. She knew the horde was planning a trip to Northrend but it would be some time till they were ready. She wasn’t too thrilled to go, but Dalaran was more than enough for her go. That intrigued her more than the rumors she had been hearing. Then there was this talking head. She wasn’t entirely sure she believed what Zalintha told her but she really didn’t have any reasons to doubt her sister.
She finished with her bath and returned to her room. She selected one of her more elegant dresses; white with green embroider, cut low in the front, thin green woven pattern on sheer cloth down the ¾ sleeves, a green spider design decorated the dress. She wore calf high, mid heel boots. She put her hair up and some jewelry to match her outfit.
She walked down the stairs ready to leave, stopping to talk to her sister. “I am heading out to get a few things.”
Zalintha looked her over. "Ooo looks like you're going to turn a few heads along the way to your ‘meeting’ sis" she giggled.
Nyph sighed at her sister. "Really Zalintha, must you always think like that?"
"Oh come on now sis, lighten up, you've got to enjoy life while you can!"
‘Honestly, and she's supposed to be the older one,’ Nyphistra thought. "There are too many matters at hand to deal with right now. You could be a little more serious about the situation you know."
"Yes yes yes, sister, I hear you. But you know, I'm being a little more serious than you are obviously noticing. Why else would I have told you what happened in Shattrath. I thought it might be of some importance to you. It's not everyday people go handing out talking heads you know. I know it still seems a bit far fetched, so if you don't believe me, why don't you go visit the guy yourself? He was another apothecary. His name was....oh drat, I've forgotten it, let me think a minute. Oh yes. That's it...Putress, Apothecary Putress."

“Magistrix Niphistra Silvertree reporting in as requested.”
“Good to see again. You’re looking rather well,” the head magister said with a smirk, looking her over from head to toe before smiling.
Nyphistra had returned to the magister’s school. Nothing had changed since she left. The Magister was acting just as she had hoped. In her time teaching at the school, she learned a great deal, especially how to keep him off her back.
“I see you have not changed much, sir,” she said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. “What is that you want me to do?”
“Getting straight to the point I see. How about some tea while we talk?”
This caught her slightly off guard, ‘He’s never been this nice.’ “That sounds nice.”
They walked over to a small table where a white tea pot with blue flower designs around it and tea cups to match and sat down. He poured her a cup and then himself one. It was a wonderful smelling blend of citrus and tea leaves, very soothing.
“Well, we had herd rumors that something was stirring up in Northrend. It is believed to be the work of the lich king, but that hasn’t been confirmed. The other leaders of the Horde are sending an expedition there in the coming weeks. I would like you to go with them and provide some detailed reports back to us.”
“What about Dalaran? You mentioned it in the summons.”
“You spent a good bit of time there before, correct?”
“Yes but I do not see what that has to do with this.”
“Well Dalaran has been moved. We believe the city is somewhere in Northrend and that your time spent within the city will be useful to gather information as to what they are planning and why?”
Nyphistra thought about her time in Dalaran. She enjoyed it there and it was that experience that helped her become a teacher of the school after the city was rebuilt. “Well I am certain that if the city is there it should be no problem getting in touch with some old acquaintances. I will report back anything I find. Anything else, sir?”
“Not at the present time. The expedition leaves in a little over a week.”
“Understood. I will prepare for the trip and leave with the initial group.”
She got up and curtseyed gracefully. She left to head for the inn. She could only tolerate him for so long. This was her main reason for leaving the school. She so despised him and shuddered to think that he was might actually be interested in her sexually. He just wasn’t the type of person she wanted to spend her life with. When she entered the inn, she caught the attention of some of the patrons. She ordered a small glass of wine and sat down mentally preparing a list of things she would have to take care of before leaving for Northrend.

Three hours had passed since she had initially sat down in the inn drinking wine. Most of the people coming through or stopping acted like nothing was wrong. She watched as couple came in for something to eat or to find a room for the night. It saddened her a little. She had honestly hoped that someone might pay her a little attention and she felt lonely. ‘Maybe Zalintha is right,’ she thought. She finished her third glass of wine and walked out to head home for dinner.
“Zalintha, I am back. Is dinner just about ready?”
Zalintha came around up from her lab and looked sad that Nyphistra again didn’t bring someone home with her. “It should be, sis. No date for dinner again? You’re never going to get a man if you don’t look for one.”
Nyphistra sighed, “Is that all you ever think about? Honestly, I would expect you to find someone before me since you are older.”
Zalintha giggled, "I spend most of my time in my lab. Besides, I'm not the marrying type. You're so beautiful. Any man would be lucky to have you for a wife."
She blushed brightly and felt embarrassed. Zalintha giggled more. “You really should go find someone, Sis.” There was a shout down the hall stating dinner was ready. “Well Sis, seems dinner is ready. We should go before it gets cold.”
Nyphistra nodded and followed her sister over to the dinner hall, still blushing at her sister’s comments. They sat down to a nice dinner, talking about the new plague information Zalintha found out about from the talking head and Nyphistra’s orders from the head magister.
“Going back to Dalarn, Sis? Maybe you can find someone there for a good time,” Zalintha said slyly.
“Well yes I would like to see the city again. Although I highly doubt that I will find ‘a nice hunky man,’ as you like to put it.”
“You never know unless you try, Nyphi. Maybe I could set you up with someone. You’re not supposed to leave for a few days. It would do you a little good.”
“But I really think that is not a good idea.”
“Nonsense, Nyphi. I’ll hook you up with someone nice. Trust me.”
“That is what I am afraid of,” muttered Nyphistra.
She would like to have someone that loved her. She just doubted if there was a person that could actually love like those she witnessed. “Well I do need to gather some more things before I leave. Maybe you could come along with me when I go. I bet there would be a lot new herbs for you to play with.”
Zalintha perked up. "Now that's a good idea. I'm in need of something new. I wonder what kind of plants we'll find." Nyphistra was glad the subject changed from setting her up with a date to plants and potions. They ate the rest of dinner talking about the trip and the possibilities.

Nyphistra had spent the last two week working with the orcs in northrend at borean tundra. Her older sister, Zalintha, was working with the apothecaries in a place called Howling Fjord. Nyphistra suggested they split up like this to cover more ground and maybe find more herbs or leads to Dalaran. She was really anxious to meet up with the Kirin Tor and had hoped that she might find some old friends that survived. In truth, she wanted the chance to help out the orcs, trolls and tauren since on the day Orgrimmar was attacked she wasn’t permitted to help and ended up finding out about it too late. She thought it was the only honorable thing to do. She knew the Warchief would have the city rebuilt and repaired in no time. She there in the open field of the Boren Tundra and thought about that day. ***** Eight Days Earlier ***** Nyphistra hurried down the stairs of her home in full battle dress, dagger on her left hip and wand on her right. Her hair was pulled back and tied up so she could see more of the battlefield. She grabbed her cloak and draped it over her shoulders, fastening the clasp to keep it from falling. She bumped into her sister on the way out. “Where are you going Nyphi?” “I just heard that Orgrimmar is under siege. I’m going to get help and reinforcements from the Magisters hall.” “You certain they will let you go?” “Well it’s a scourge invasion from what I gather.” “I’ll come too, Sis.” “You should finish getting things ready. A small squad of mages should be more than enough.” Zalintha nodded. Nyphistra made haste for the magisters’ hall. Upon arriving, she walked past the classrooms, bumping into a student. “Lady Silvertree, is something wrong?” asked one of her former students. “Lainsira, it’s good to see you. I might have need of your assistance with defending our allies. Interested? It will be a real good experience in the actual field.” “I would, milady, but we are not supposed to leave on our own.” “Who said that?” “The head magister did, Milady.” Nyphistra’s face became rather angry. “Thank you, Lainsira. Maybe we can talk later.” Lainsira curtsied and Nyphistra stormed off toward the head magister’s office. He was in the office as she suspected, looking over more paperwork. She slammed open the big red and golden double doors. “I need a group of mages to take to Orgrimmar now!” she demanded. He frowned. “I thought I gave you orders to leave for northrend.” “Northrend is not going anywhere! Our allies are underseige by the Scourge and we should be helping them!” “Yes I have heard and we are not in a position to send help and neither are you. You’re place is here preparing for the trip, Magistrix,” he said sternly. Nyphistra was getting angry and her robes started to ruffle as magical energy began to swirl around her. “You would rather sit here instead of helping our allies! You are no better than the alliance!” “How dare you,” he said realizing what has about to happen. “In case you have forgotten, I’m in charge here and you will do just as you are told. You are not to go to Orgrimmar.” “And I suppose that includes taken any of the senior students to a field excerise for some real experience also!” Her blood was boiling with anger and her temper was getting out of control. “You are nothing but a gutless bastard!” she yelled, pointing at him as she spoke. At this point she had cast a new spell she learned, Living Bomb, on him. After a few seconds, it exploded bringing the guards in to the office. They immediately put in place an anti-magic field and restrained Nyphistra. The Head Magister drank a red potion to recover from the explosion. He approached Nyphistra, who was being held still by the guards at her upper arms. Her hands were held at the wrists behind her back. She was furious with fire in her eyes. “That was a good trick. I knew you had potential but this quick temper of yours seems to keep getting you in trouble.” The guards let her go but stood there waiting. She reached in her pocket, taking out a signet ring and a small broach designating her title of Magistrix. She threw them at his face. “I will no longer take orders from you. You are a coward and not worthy to teach anyone. Good bye and pray we never meet on the battlefield.” With that, she stormed out and teleported to Orgrimmar.
