The dawn's mist is quickly evaporating as a golden sun rises over Booty Bay. Morning is already hot and humid, as shopkeepers and auctioneers prepare for the day's business. Seagulls glide close to the docks as fishermen pull in the early catch, hoping to steal a morsel of fish. A ship sailing for Ratchet, across the sea, pulled in the night before, and her crew is busy working off their hangovers. You stroll along the dock from The Salty Sailor, towards the bank and auction block, where the busiest activity is well underway. You walk past the auctioneer who's babbling quickly in the goblin tongue to listeners who periodically raise a hand to indicate a bid, and end up in front of the bulletin board. Tacked up on its weathered surface is a brand-new, crisp sheet of parchment. On the upper portion of the announcement is a picture of a strange-looking ship sailing out of Booty Bay, all in colorful detail. Below the artist's work is an advertisement in slightly flourished, but still readable, letters. The text appears in both the goblin tongue, in fancier-than-usual letters, and in common Orcish, in its very recognizable runic script. A warm gust of sea air sweeps past you as you read the following:
Have you heard the call of the sea? Do you thirst for the excitement of adventure? Does the idea of danger on the road make your eyes light up? Do you want to bring honor to the Horde and shiny coin to your pocket?

Pinchpocket Freightways: The World Delivered to Your Doorstep TM
((This is a fun little idea I've had for an RP guild, for quite a while now. There are many "pirate" guilds out there, and I like piraty things, but I wanted to give it a new twist. Pinchpocket Freightways (PPF) is a shipping company run by one Razmous Fyddlestix Pinchpocket, a goblin of notoriety in Undermine. Anaansi has been with him since he started the business--she was his first shipper. At the time, she captained a ship of his called The Golden Lady. The business took off, and soon they were both rolling in coin. She made enough from her early exploits to fix up and customize a ship she inherited from her father, Michomo, the witchdoctor of her clan. He had stolen it in a raid on a human settlement. Christening her new ship with a party to remember (or not, depending on one's intake of rum) at The Salty Sailor, she dubbed it The Smiling Bandit, in honor of a nickname she earned on one of her "privateering" exploits. Not long after the christening of the Bandit, Steamwheedle gave her a commission to fight it out with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, and other enemies, including the Southsea Freebooters and the Venture Company (secretly--the laws and union rules of Undermine protect all goblin entities who are members of the Undermine Citizens' and Entrepreneurs' Union, even from each other). Then Thrall, and his new Horde, together with their allies, the Darkspear troll tribe, heard of her earlier missions and made a deal with Pinchpocket to employ her as a privateer. So she and the crew of the Bandit began working double-duty against the enemies of the Horde. This wasn't a bad arrangement--they got to keep any loot they plundered from enemy ships, save a portion for PPF, and a portion for the Horde. Now the Venture Company wasn't safe anymore--they had made themselves a nuisance to Orgrimmar too! The greatest profit however, came from smuggling contraband and black market goods to and fro. PPF didn't start as a smuggling operation; it came about when the Bandit had to deliver goods to Gadgetzan from Ratchet, and had to sail past the fort of Theramore, in Dustwallow. After some narrow misses and close calls, they managed to smuggle their goods past. Much to Razmous Pinchpocket's delight, the value of said goods shot up in value because of difficulty with the humans, and he, and the crew of the Bandit made a small fortune. They were in the smuggling business. The decision was made right on there in the market (quietly, of course). So, PPF is not only a shipping company, but also a smuggling operation. And the Bandit now works triple-duty, counting its privateering work. Being Freightmaster, Anaansi not only captains her ship, but also leads caravans, captains cargo zeppelins, and occasionally solo-flies goods in her aircraft (which she lovingly dubbed The Haughty Ogress, in honor of a friend in Ogri'la).
So, that's the basic background. Now to the details of the guild:
Pinchpocket Freightways is an RP guild, that also does instances, and helps its members in their leveling. I wanna get it to the point where we do regular raids, both normal and heroic. As PPF is technically a "civilian business", and not a militia or band of mercenaries, we won't be doing much in the way of PvP right now, at least not as a guild. Perhaps we will in the future--if we can work it into RP somehow. The "company logo" is our tabard, and the "necessary equipment" is bags. As Naan is poor at the time of this writing, early members will have to fend for themselves as far as storage space goes. In the near future, I wanna be keeping a good supply of 12-slot or higher capacity bags. Getting adequate storage for your toon is such a pain, and I wanna help alleviate it for my guildies. I'm going to be getting a proboards site up also, for our members to access for events, raids, and some RP fun. Getting a bank tab is, at this moment, Naan's top priority. And I will be busy farming the length and breadth of Azeroth for AH goodies.
If any of this sounds neat to y'all, give Anaansi a whisper in-game, or mail her your interest in the form of a short "resume" (ICly, or In Character--for those who are new to the game). Then we can do some kinda small RP to induct your toon into the guild. Have fun, I'll see you around, and...if you need anything delivered promptly and efficiently, choose Pinchpocket Freightways for your shipping needs. We're the Most Reliable Shipping Company on Azeroth, and Beyond TM! ;D ))
