(( According to Tati, I'm in need of postin' my little even here. So, as a repost from the FM Forums, here! ))
Saenna eased herself into a sitting position on the dock, haphazardly looping the squirming bait onto the hook. Casting a weary eye around the area she whistled low, flicking her wrist and sending the little hook flying into the water. Fishing wasn't the most extraordinary skill she could learn, but at the same time she'd had more than one request for various dishes for her guilds get-together for the holidays and well, why the hell not.
Thinking about the upcoming Winter's Veil she realized with the Scourge in Northrend causing such a fuss, Azeroth's holiday might not be as happy as expected. Remembering a previous year, located in Northern Winterspring, the gift exchange between the Alliance and Horde members alike. Swapping clothing, armor, there was even a proposal there that year. She recalled all the gifts she'd gotten everyone and her lips puckered with thought.
What if the gift swap didn't happen this year? More happy memories couldn't be made, a smile to be shared, gifts to be swapped? She reeled in her line, looking down at the lonely hook, the bait chewed off while she was lost in thought. Well then, at least that fish aught to be cheerful.
Tucking her bait and pole away she snatched a piece of parchment and began writing furiously. Maybe she could have a mage replicate the letter... It'd be worth the try.
<Posted on colorful parchments in neutral areas of Booty Bay, Ratchet, Winterlook, a few stuck to zeppelin towers, around all of the Alliance capital cities and a few tagged as close to Horde cities as a human might get.>
Citizens of Azeroth,
My name isn't important for now, I'll keep the message short. With the terror of the world on the rise, the will of the people of Azeroth must prevail. If that means going out on a limb to extend an invitation to both sides this Winter's Veil to encourage the friendly relationship between the Horde and Alliance, so be it. For this, a meeting place, a date and a time. If all goes well, there will be drinks, food and presents to go around. You must bring a present! Even if it's something as simple as a lucky charm or a handmade shirt. Don't forget to wrap it!
This invitation is to all who would come, set their weapons aside and share a smile with friends, family and hopefully, allies to be made. I would ask that there be no weapons within sight of the meeting place, but with the creatures that lurk, it's understandable.
The presents will be swapped between those coming and perhaps I can manage a few extra presents for the less fortunate.
This coming December the 17th, by the western hemisphere's sundown, in the vast city of Shattrath.
Happy Winter's Veil
((OOC Info:
Date: December 17th
Time: 6:30pm PST (Server time; it'll run till everyone leaves. )
Where: Shattrath; location, location, location.
Req: Bring a pressie to share. Or a couple to share. Be nice.
Why: Because I've been on a holiday type binge and I adored the party the White Kodo Clan hosted last year.
Additionally: I'm looking for a Horde guild and/or person to collaborate with for this, and possibly even a friendly vent to share character stories. I know there are plenty of requests for Horde/Alliance parties, and I'm all for hosting one this year. In-game message or a post here would be awesome; thank you!))
